X-Treme Italia Sud, our subsidiary located in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio (Naples) serving the central-southern Italian market, held a demo of Sound Corporation's leading brands in the industrial area of Angri, in the province of Salerno, just a stone's throw away from the wonderful setting of the Gulf of Sorrento.
With Gianni Boccia leading the team, the X-Treme audio technical staff set up three audio systems – two X-Treme line arrays and one Peecker Sound active stack – in the area called "AUDIO in onda" (Audio on the air) at the Open House organized by Efesto Production, the renowned company manufacturing aluminium trusses, tower trusses and modular rigs for the entertainment industry. Other audio systems manufacturers, participating in this competitive arena to present their touring sound products, included the Canadian company ADAMSON (distributed by REFERENCE Laboratory), DAD (the leading brand of the Italian company Music&Lights) and LSS (the dynamic young company founded by Giuseppe Laruffa).
“This event, attended by leading (sound, lighting and rigging) companies and distinguished guests, deserves a repeat performance. It was an absolute pleasure for me to be able to invite our leading customers to such a well-organized event, held not far from our everyday workplace”, has declared enthusiastically Gianni Boccia, Director of X-Treme Italia Sud. “The only real problem my team and I had to reckon with was the lashing wind at the location on the first two days: at least it was stimulating to be able to work out solutions with our competitors also attending the event.”
Two daily demos of X-Treme systems were scheduled for the entire duration of the Open House at the following times:
15th April 2011: 11 am – 11.30 am and 3 pm – 3.30 pm
16th April 2011: 11.30 am – 12 noon and 3. 30 pm – 4 pm
17th April 2011: 12 noon – 12.30 pm and 4 pm – 4.30 pm
The demo started with the smallest system on demo, namely the “top” configuration of the new Peecker Sound Upturned T series, consisting of its two PSUT8TE and PSUT8AE “small columns” driven by the PSUTBASE/A active sub.
Then it was the time of the smallest X-Treme brand line array, ideal for touring shows with medium-sized audiences, theatre concerts, auditoriums, multi-purpose halls and so on. The on field system consisted of 8+8 XTMLA mini line array modules plus 2+2 XTHPS21 "infra-bass" subwoofers.
Finally, the listening session of the three Sound Corporation audio systems was completed by the “medium-scale” line array from the X-Treme series in its standard configuration, consisting of 8+8 XTMISI line array modules coupled with 4+4 XTMISIS suspendable double subwoofers. Last but not least, for the interest – and pleasure – of the various musicians attending the event, our demo featured two XTMON15/A active professional stage monitors.
“Our systems really impressed those who were not familiar with them and we are highly satisfied with their final performance, particularly in the mid-high frequency range: the vocals really came through with crystal-clear sharpness”, concluded Paolo Martignon, who was responsible for setting up and testing the audio systems with the XTI proprietary software.
